Fingerly is prepaid. You add credit, and each production identification is paid from it. There are no plans, minimums, monthly fees or seat charges.

Volume discount
The price of an identification falls as the month goes on. Volume is counted per calendar month in UTC and resets on the first.

The bands are graduated: each one prices the identifications that fall inside it. A month of 300,000 identifications is 250,000 at the first price and 50,000 at the second, not 300,000 at the second. Crossing a boundary never makes a bill smaller than it was.
The discount applies itself. There is nothing to enable, negotiate or sign, and rate_per_check_micros in the billing API is the rate you are on now.
What is free
- Every request with a development or staging key.
- Retries answered as duplicates of the same
Idempotency-Key. - Requests Fingerly refuses:
401,402and429. - Requests whose network lookup could not run (
state: unavailable). - Deferred reports and attestation challenges.
- Reading events with a secret key, and webhooks.
Credit

Add funds in Settings > Billing. Credit is added as soon as the payment is confirmed.
Manage billing in Settings > Billing opens Stripe's billing portal, where you update the billing name, email, address, phone and tax ID shown on receipts and invoices, manage your cards, and download past invoices. Billing details belong to the organization and apply to all its projects; a part of your business that is billed separately needs an organization of its own.
Auto top-up
Auto top-up adds a fixed amount by card when your balance falls below a threshold, so traffic never stops for lack of credit.

Auto top-up needs a card on file. After three declined payments in a row it pauses, and you can resume it from Settings > Billing once the card is fixed. Declined attempts count towards the daily limit. Contact support if you need more than three a day.
When the balance runs out
Identification continues below zero, up to your tolerance: 20% of the smaller of what you spent on identifications and what you paid in the last 30 days. Settings > Billing shows your tolerance and how much of it is left. It is not available with an open payment dispute, after a chargeback in the last 90 days, while auto top-up is paused for a declined card, or once the balance has been below zero for seven days.
Once the tolerance is used up, production identify requests are refused with 402 no_credit until you add funds, and identification.refused webhooks are sent with the reason no_credit. Development and staging keys keep working. Your next payment repays the amount below zero first: a $5,000 top-up at -$500 leaves $4,500.
Invoiced billing
Larger organisations can be billed monthly instead of buying credit first. Contact support to arrange it. Fingerly sets a credit limit and payment terms, and identification runs on the credit limit all month.
- Usage is priced exactly as it is for prepaid organisations, volume discount included.
- Each calendar month (UTC) is invoiced shortly after it ends, for what was used and not already invoiced. The invoice is emailed and appears in Settings > Billing > Invoices, where you can pay it by card or bank transfer, or download the PDF.
- Auto top-up is not available. You can still add funds by card, which is used before anything is invoiced.
- Once the credit limit is used up, production identify requests are refused with
402 no_credit, as they are when a prepaid balance runs out. - An invoice not paid by its due date makes the account past due, and identification continues. 14 days after the due date, production identify requests are refused until the invoice is paid; paying it restores them at once.

Usage
Settings > Usage shows metered checks per day and per key, billable and test traffic, and refused requests. Usage is settled once a day, shortly after midnight UTC.
Owners, admins and members with the billing role can manage billing.
